We don't know when Bill Shook became weight obsessed, but he founded this innovative company in 1982.  American Classic is a big sponsor of the sport, and has raced its wheels into highly competitive shape.  TARGETRAINING's professional team rode it in 2006 (Alejandro Acton won a national race on the 420's below).  American Classic makes clean, light-weight, well designed wheels.  And they are priced extremely competitively. We like them.

Weight: 1150 grams...(light, especially given the price)

Do these wheels float? Strong and light? Ask Anthony Colby how they rode up Brasstown Bald last year.  This is the type of wheel you look for when you want light and carbon wheels are not your thing.   They are actually less expensive per gram of weight saving than similar carbons.

Dish: 34 MM depth

These are race worthy, race proven wheels. Fast into and out of the corners, light up the hills, good top end speed, excellent value.  If you are a racer, or like to go fast, you have to seriously consider these wheels.  There is little not to like about them.
