TARGETBurn These are rigorous circuit workouts that are for all around fitness. These sessions incorporate a combination of functional strength, power, and agility drills and obstacle course-type efforts.

TARGETCore These 30min concentrated training sessions focus on strengthening and stretching the core region of the body. Core strength is a critical component to a healthy system and any athletic activity.

TARGETough These are strength training sessions specifically designed to work the full body to improve muscular strength and endurance.

TARGETorque = Cycling All indoor cycling sessions are led by a cycling coach. These classes leverage group dynamics to inspire performance, but are also tailored to each individual. We utilize power meters, cadence sensors, speedometers, odometers, time and heart rate monitors to measure your efforts throughout the session. We will put you on virtual courses (e.g., riding up the French Alps) or on a series of intervals. As in all our endurance classes, we take into account preordination strategies and will customize a particular session to focus on which phase of training an athlete is in (base, build, speed, transition). These are great 1+ hour classes. TARGETour is the outdoor version of our cycling programming. These sessions are highly structured and accommodate all levels of cycling experience. TARGETerrain is the off road offering of our cycling programming that takes advantage of our great local parks systems. We will help you develop mountain bike and cyclocross skills all while getting in a great cardio workout.

TARGETKickfit = Kick boxing Taught by a highly trained martial art instructor, you will keep those legs going non-stop. The sweat will need to be continually wiped away from your eyes while you focus on form, function, and fluidity. These classes are literally a kick and a half.

TARGETeen Cross disciplinary fitness program combining endurance training, speed training and strength training. Focused on 13-17 year olds. Whether your growing son or daughter need a change of venue or are preparing for a national event or college, this program will lean them out, improve their level of discipline and make them faster, stronger and last longer in everything they do.

TARGETYouth More than just plain fun, this program for the precocious 9-12 year olds helps ready them for sports, for everyday activities, and simply allow them to pour their energy into an intense set of activities for an afternoon.

Martial Arts Taught by instructors with blackbelts in multiple disciplines, this is the real deal. Attended by novices to those with expert degrees, this session is your way of learning to combine body and mind discipline into one using both ancient and modern technique.

TARGETide = Swim These sessions are a combination of instructional (form) and training (fitness). You are watched to help tweak your stroke. You are timed to push yourself as appropriate to improve your endurance and speed. These sessions occur three times a week and also go outdoors in the warmer months of the year. In the warm months, you will practice with a wetsuit in open water as much as twice a week.

TARGETread = Running Our sessions are designed for all levels from new runners to experienced competitors. We do form drills, speed work, and distance training designed to help tri-athletes, pure runners, or those wanting to cross train for other sports. TARGETrail takes your running off road! These are fantastic classes that put you into a peaceful oblivion while at the same time push your fitness to new heights. Even 20 degree weather is warm when you are running trails. You will learn how to run downhill among rocks and twigs and in the snow. This is fun stuff.

TARGETYoga/Pilates These are not your regular Yoga or Pilates sessions. You will work on strength, muscular endurance and fluidity through a combination of poses and movements. Everyone should take this. It is critical to help you recover. Active recovery is key to training.

 


 

 

New spring schedule revised June 14, 2010

Tuesday/Thursday 5:45AM cycling sessions will now be outdoors at Sherwood Island as long as the roads are dry and temperatures are above 55 degrees.
Saturday 6:00AM Cycling Session will now be outdoors and will follow the same route as the 9:00AM ride. Do the double if you are looking for some big miles! 9:00AM Cycling session will now only be an outdoor session unless weather conditions keep us indoors.
Sunday Pilates session has been suspended for the season.

Indoor/Outdoor Cycling Session:
These cycling sessions go outside at the discretion of the class instructor. In general the roads need to be dry with temperatures about 60 degrees. Some sessions are conducted as interval training at Sherwood Island as noted in the schedule, while others are group rides with multiple ride leaders.
