July 8th-10th. Masters Nationals. Anthony Taylor got 3rd
in the 45-49 criterium nationals race. Scott Bodin
grabbed 13th spot. Then Scott went on with Tony to the road race
and earned a hard 10th place. Not a bad showing for
a couple of old guys. Abdul went there and got 20th in the
40-44 criterium.
June 9th. Nutmeg Games. Scott Bodin won the 45+,
soloing to the line ahead of Skip Foley. Kyle Wolfe got
3rd in a three man drag race against Jason Snow and Anthony
Allesio (no one slow there), although he got an excellent lead
out from teammates including Ian Sinclair, who slew himself for
Kyle. Tony Taylor, racing in the young man's P123 race,
got 9th, after having sacrificed himself for teammates in the
old men races. Balloon Festival Road Race in Cambridge, NY.
Max Lippolis got 7th in the combined 30+/40+ race but placed
2nd among the 30+ guys. Doug Crane won the 50+ race.
Memorial Day Weekend. Scott Bodin, Kyle Wolfe and
Abdul Kabia got in a 12 man break at Bound Brook, with Scott
placing 2nd and Kyle 5th. Ian Sinclair got 7th
in the 40+ at Hartford and Max Lippolis got 3rd in the 30+.
April 15th. Bethel Spring Series. Morgan Stebbins wrapped up the 40+ Bethel Spring Series by
winning the final race. He won three of the 40+
races and got 3rd in another race.
April 14th. Battenkill-Roubaix. Kyle Wolfe won his second race of the
season and his first 35+ race. Seven teammates arrived for
the biggest race of the season thus far: Scott Bodin, Abdul
Kabia, Kyle, Max Lippolis, Paolo Mion, Mike Allaire, and Curtis
Eastin. Curtis went to the front from the gun and kept the
race in a straight line until the first section of dirt. Then
Max L. led the field up the first steep climb which softened
everyone's legs. Abdul then brought Kyle back to the front
after some field movement. He attacked with a group of
five only nine miles into the course and then won the break
sprint. Scott Bodin provided the team with a pep
talk prior to the race. The team worked well together -- a
good start to the season.
Doug Crane earned sixth place in the 45+ race. He solo
attacked from the field to earn his spot.
April 14th. Plainsville Spring Series. Ian Sinclair
won the race this past weekend as well as the prime to move up
to 2nd overall in the 3/4 series. Ian solo bridged to the
winning break (which had 25 seconds on him) and then was able
with the help of teammate John Mattio to beat the current series
leader for the prime as well as beat both Michael Norton and
Doug McKeon for the win.
